Our Story

Our story began in 2015 when a group of creators who met at Goldsmiths (University of London) started a music & art collective called The Rising Sun Collective. Initially with a strong music focus, our artists began gracing some of the UK's most distinguished platforms including BBC Radio 1, Boiler Room, NTS Radio, and the stages of many festivals and nightclubs from Glastonbury to Fabric. The Rising Sun Collective gradually evolved into a vast network of creators across various disciplines.

We set up a creator house in an ex-Truman Brewery pub in Peckham which quickly became a cultural hub for artists and creators across music, art, film, and fashion. With our own in-house recording and film studios, live events space, and 8 bedrooms, our creator house continues to host residencies where creators from all over the world get invited to collaborate on making content that slaps. We also throw some pretty epic parties.

In 2022, we raised over £1m to set up a first-of-its-kind co-operative to provide a hybrid affordable creative workspace and housing for creators in London. We did this because we’re born & bred out of the creative economy and realize the negative cultural impact of artists & creatives being priced out of the city.

Since our inception, we’re honored to have welcomed the likes of Jamie XX, Novelist, The Last Dinner Party, Lynks, Black Midi, Obongjayar, and hundreds more talented creators you may not have heard of yet through our doors.

Our latest venture was to set up Rising Sun Creator Partnerships to provide creative services and influencer content for agencies and brands. Clients to date include Nike, size?, Tommy Hilfiger, Universal Music, Boiler Room, and Jägermeister.

Nike Case Study

One of our proudest moments:

We have finally got the green light on a grail of the sneaker world – the Nike Dunk Low.

Nike & size? came to us looking for a face for their new size? exclusive Nike Dunk Low that aligned with their artistic interests. Turns out we had quite a few suitable faces including sword spinner Chloe Curry, emerging artist Sheiva, and filmmaker Jude Jansen amongst a few others.

So we got the talent together, organized a shoot, and had the campaign video playing in stores & social cuts across social media channels the next week.
